IMQubator aims at nurturing financial top talent wanting to invest from The Netherlands

Amsterdam, 12 November 2008 – Holland Financial Centre (HFC) today launches the “IMQubator”, a new fund with an initial size of €250 million, specifically aimed at starting asset managers. IMQubator will support initiatives of experienced investment managers who want to start up their own business with seed capital to make a good start. An important precondition is that these new investment funds must operate from The Netherlands.

With IMQubator, innovation and entrepreneurship in asset management is stimulated, while at the same time financial top talent can maximize its potential in The Netherlands...

Cooperation between Italian PensPlan and APG Group

PensPlan and APG Group are signing a Letter of Intent today, in which they confirm their intention to set up collaborative business to improve the performance of Italian second pillar pension funds. As a regional pension administrator in the north of Italy, PensPlan serves a number of Italian pension funds.

It is expected that as a first step of the collaboration APG Group will manage assets for PensPlan of in total € 100 million at the beginning of 2009. Both companies expect rapid growth of assets under management.

Sabic will establish its foreign investment venture in The Netherlands

Sabic, the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, has chosen the Netherlands as location for its foreign investment venture. The Arabs probably will choose Amsterdam as headquarter for Sabic Capital, the venture of the sovereign wealth fund responsible for foreign investments.

The chairman of Sabic, Prince Saub bin Abdullah bin Thenayan Al-Saud, announced this in Riyadh on Monday, during a visit of the Dutch minister of Economic Affairs, Maria van der Hoeven and Holland Financial Centre.

The Netherlands signed a day earlier a tax treaty with Saudi Arabia. The treaty contains amongst other provisions to avoid double tax payments and provisions to prevent tax evasion.
